Manning Requirement

Burundi is a member of the IMO STCW White List. Applications of sections 123 to 127 of the Maritime Transport Act 1992 apply to every Burundi Ships. Any person serving or engaged to serve in any ship to which this section applies and holding any certificates or other documents which evidence that he is qualified for the purposes of section 123 shall submit a certified true copy of the relevant certificates.

  • Application Form, (enclosed). All applicable information in English language must be entered on the application. Use a typewriter or print legibly. Failure to properly complete this application or submit the required supporting proofs will result in rejection of this application or delay its processing
  • Seaman's book Passport - Copy of seaman's book/passport pages containing the applicant's general information. In the absence of a seaman's book, a copy of a personal identity documents may be presented.
  • Certificate of Competency - Copy of the Certificate of Competency issued by the Maritime Administration. It must be issued by a country appearing on the White List and approved by TZIRS.
  • Medical Fitness Certificate - The examination must be carried out by a duly certified practitioner not more 12 months prior to date of making the application.
  • Passport Photographs (total four) - Facial front view of applicant, passport size, taken within one year preceding application with applicant's name printed on reverse side to avoid misplacement of photos on other applications. Photos should be 1.75 X 1.75CM

THE SCALES GAS PER STANDARD FOR GENERAL GUIDELINES ONLY

MINIMUM SCALE MANNING LOWER OR HIGHER THAN THE SCHEME SHOULD BE APPLICABLE ON A SHIP BY SHIP BASIS.
